We are showcasing rapper Don Nick Luciano. An Atlanta native, Luciano is focus on fresh music and giving people something new to listen to. While rapping he also plays his guitar. Luciano has had his bouts of trouble and hardship but you can listen to his stories through his music. Check out our interview below:

CR: How long have you been singing or performing?

Don: I’ve actually just recently started performing because I felt like I’m just now getting to the point that I can give the world like good quality, music so to speak. I’ve only been performing about six or seven months. But I’ve been into music about ten years now.

CR: What is your musical style?

Don: If I had to give it a style I would have to say it’s just something fresh and it’s hard to explain. It’s not like your typical hip-hop, I actually play a live instrument while I rap. It’s different and it’s hard to put it into a specific type of genre. If anything I would describe it as alternative.

CR: Do you write your own music?

Don: I do

CR: What is your inspiration?

Don: Life, day-to-day life. My main inspirations come from my experiences that I had, you know, growing up into Atlanta my hardships from being in group homes,  to being in DFACS custody and even being incarcerated from the age of 14 and all the way up to like 19. Going to prison getting out of prison and going straight into college and just so much. I would say my main inspiration behind it all would be God. There is a reason that I am here; I could have been dead and gone a long time ago.

CR:Is there a particular message you want people to take away from your music?

Don: At the end of the day I want people to know it’s alright to be cool and at the same time you can be yourself. I want to be able to tell them what the other rappers are not telling them about what’s a retirement plan, what’s a 401k stuff like that, the real stuff that matters in life. At the end of the day I want them to get a positive vibe from it, like good energy and good music.

CR: Before we finish is there anything else you would like to add?

Don: I want people to have a chance to listen to real music, something good for a change. I know they are tired of what they are hearing on the radio, so if they want something new and fresh then check out Don Nick Luciano.
